At the Women’s Academy Ulm two workshop-groups were established to reflect on the life patterns of women of different generations. One group worked with photography, the other group created books.
The participants chose to think and talk about their own grandmothers and mothers, about themselves and their daughters. This biographical approach was a very personal and emotional way of dealing with the topic.

The objects invite to follow the lifelines of several German women – many of them have a story of migration after World War II. The photos and books are telling about courage and responsibility, love and despair, family life and public life, religion, music crafts, poems, tales, dreams... Colourful and proud and full of hope for equal opportunities for future generations of women.
